Aoki and 3LAU’s PUNX Project Releases First Single, ‘Concentrate’!

Steve Aoki and 3LAU are teaming up to use CryptoPunks IP in an exciting way. The two legendary DJs are forming a metaverse supergroup called PUNX. What can fans expect from the newly formed band?

What Do We Know About PUNX?

The duo just announced they will release their first single called “Concentrate” on April 28. Not only will they release the actual music and concept art, but the group will also sell 50% of the streaming rights to the song. Purchasers will have the opportunity to purchase 99 tokens each representing 0.5% ownership of the track. First dibs will go to current token holders of CryptoPunks, A0K1VERSE Passport, and 3LAU’s NFT collections.

These tokens will be sold on Royal, an investment platform created by 3LAU to help democratize ownership of music rights. By disrupting the existing framework of the music industry, Royal makes it easier for artists to monetize and maintain ownership of their content. To date, more than 11,000 people have used to platform to generate over $2m in revenue.

3LAU remarked, “Releasing Concentrate as part of PUNX is a major moment for us. It offers our earliest supporters & believers a unique opportunity to co-own the song with me and Aoki. By launching the PUNX project on Royal, we’re not only pushing creative boundaries, we’re also empowering our community to be a part of our journey and share in our success from day one. Who are Steve Aoki and 3LAU?

Steven Aoki is a two-time Grammy nominee artist, DJ, producer, and visionary. He has a 77m average monthly reach and his music has been streamed over 4 billion times. He was an early entrant to Web3 and invested heavily in various NFT projects over the last couple of years.

Aoki has also created his own NFT projects. His first project, the “Dream Catcher” series, generated over $4m in revenue. Since that, he co-founded an episodic series with Seth Green called “Dominion X”, curated an NFT collection with Sotheby’s, and partnered with Seth McFarlane to create a comic book art marketplace on Solana.
